Why Offer an Employee Assistance Program?

A strong workplace supports mental health before employees reach crisis point. An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) gives employees confidential access to professional support while helping organisations create healthier, safer and more sustainable workplaces.

Support the Management of Psychosocial Hazards

Workplace factors such as excessive workloads, poor support, workplace conflict, bullying, traumatic events, role uncertainty and organisational change can contribute to psychosocial risk. An EAP provides an important early-intervention and support pathway for employees experiencing psychological distress.

An EAP complements — but does not replace — an employer's broader responsibility to identify, assess and manage psychosocial hazards within the workplace.

Reduce Burnout and Workplace Stress

Early access to mental health support can help employees recognise stress, develop practical coping strategies and address challenges before they escalate into burnout or extended periods away from work.

Improve Employee Wellbeing

Providing access to confidential professional support demonstrates that mental health is valued within the organisation and gives employees somewhere to turn when work or life becomes difficult.

Support Productivity and Work Participation

Mental health difficulties can affect concentration, motivation, executive functioning, communication and capacity to manage everyday work demands. Early intervention can help employees develop strategies to remain engaged and functioning at work.

Reduce Absenteeism and Presenteeism

Employees don't always take leave when they're struggling. Sometimes they continue attending work while operating at significantly reduced capacity. Providing accessible support can help address difficulties earlier and support sustainable participation in the workplace.

Provide Support During Organisational Change

Restructures, redundancies, leadership changes, workplace conflict and other periods of uncertainty can significantly impact employee wellbeing. EAP provides employees with an independent and confidential space to process these experiences and develop strategies for managing change.

Support Managers and Leaders

Managers are often the first people to notice when an employee is struggling, but they are not expected to be mental health professionals. Having a clear EAP referral pathway gives leaders somewhere appropriate to direct employees for professional support.

Create a Culture of Early Help-Seeking

Making mental health support easily accessible can help normalise seeking assistance before someone reaches crisis point, contributing to a workplace culture where psychological wellbeing is taken seriously.

Improve Employee Attraction and Retention

Providing meaningful wellbeing initiatives can contribute to employees feeling supported and valued by their workplace and form part of an organisation's broader approach to employee experience and retention.

Support Employees Beyond the Workplace

Mental health doesn't stop when someone arrives at work. Relationship difficulties, parenting, grief, caring responsibilities, neurodivergence, financial stress and major life transitions can all affect an employee's capacity at work. EAP provides confidential support for the whole person — not just workplace problems.

Investing in employee mental health isn't simply about responding when someone is struggling. It's about creating accessible pathways to support, encouraging early intervention and building a healthier and more sustainable workforce.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Confidential, professional support whenever you need it, delivered with the same warmth and clinical care behind every service we offer.

An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) gives your staff confidential, professional support for personal and work-related challenges. Whether it's something big or something you can't quite put your finger on, you don't need to have it all figured out before reaching out.

Your staff will have access to a multidisciplinary allied health team made up of Psychologists, Mental Health Occupational Therapists and Counsellors, who'll match you with the right kind of support for what you're going through.

Simple for Employers. Confidential for Employees.

Employers can fund a set number of EAP sessions for their staff, with services billed based on utilisation.

Employee sessions remain confidential, and personal information is not shared with employers without consent, except where required by law or where there is a serious risk to safety.

Employers may receive de-identified utilisation information where agreed, allowing them to understand how the service is being accessed without compromising employee privacy.
